the institute of digital innovation in the phoenix building was designed as a part of the digital city development in middlesbrough, which aims to build a world-class reputation for creativity and excellence in areas such as computer animation, computer games development, digital design and digital media. the building contains specialist digital sound studios and screening rooms and provides high quality accommodation for post-graduates, fellows and studio space for local digital businesses. the south facing solar wall is driving the natural ventilation system.
